In 2015, London-based designer Yosuzi Sylvester founded her eponymous brand featuring a collection of whimsical hats after traveling to her native Venezuela and becoming inspired by the local millinery craftsmanship. Working with indigenous artisans in the country’s La Guajira desert, the label finishes each hand-woven hat, trims and Yosuzi’s ancestral crest, now also the brand’s logo. Since its debut, the line has expanded to include straw
bags and hats made in Ecuador, Colombia and British-made fedoras.

GIVING BACK
The WOMA project initiative is built on a vision of economic sustainability for their artisans and their families. A portion of each sale goes to CEPIN, a non-profit organisation supporting the health and education of Guajiro children in Venezuela. #TheWomaProject
